Makani Young thought she left her past in Hawaii when she moved to Nebraska to live with her grandmother. She has made friends and even has a crush on someone. But then students from Osborne High are gruesomely murdered and Makani is confronted to face her past.
The book immediately starts with an exciting chapter in which a student is murdered. You also read this from the victim which gives you a creepy feeling. For the most part, you read from the perspective of Makani who is clearly struggling about what happened in the past. Makani as a character is very well worked out and you can clearly create a bond with her. You also read chapters from the perspective of the victims who are being murdered and this is adding an interesting and exciting twist to the story. Halfway through the book, you find out who the killer is, and this surprised me. I was curious how the rest of the story would turn out. Lots of things are happening and throughout the book, the story continues to keep your attention. The plot is well worked out and there is clearly some tension throughout the book. There’s Someone Inside Your House is a great YA thriller that I enjoyed a lot.
